Body Donation Movement

The posthumous body donation movement is being advanced with the support of nearly every university, medical college, NOTTO, ROTTO, SOTTO, MCI, NCSTC (DST), Department of Health (Government of India), Department of Health, Science and Technology of West Bengal, along with various public organizations, aimed at promoting a scientific mindset in India, particularly in the state of West Bengal. Till date, more than 13 lakh people have pledged their posthumous bodies to medical science and more than 4 thousand cadavers have been donated in different medical colleges of the state.

Public Awareness Initiatives

Various activities such as house meetings, seminars, and large gatherings have been organized in every district of West Bengal and different parts of India to raise public awareness. At least 15 meetings/ seminars on an average being organised in a month.

Regional Workshops

Ganadarpan organized workshops in Gujarat for western states and in Guwahati, Assam, for northeastern states under the auspices of the NCSTC Network.

Global Donor Cards

We have created a Posthumous Organ Donation Pledge and Green Color Donor Cards (Daana Patra) that can be utilized worldwide.

Vigyan Rath Campaign

From November 5th to 11th, 1990, we conducted a campaign in eight districts of West Bengal with the Vigyan Rath.

Science on Bicycles

Between January 14th and 19th, 1999, we brought science to Dantan in Medinipur using bicycles.

Northern Workshop

A workshop was organized in Northern India on December 2nd and 3rd, 2002, at Constitution Hall, Delhi.

East & North East Dialogue

From April 4th to 6th, 2003, in collaboration with the Sushruta Eye Foundation, we held a dialogue with activists from East and North East India at their theatre.

Awareness March

In 2006, awareness camps commemorating January 10th (First Autopsy Day) were organized in nearly all universities of West Bengal. In connection with this, a march was held on January 8th.

Cycle Jatha

A cycle jatha with more than 100 cyclists was held on Jan 26, 2022 from south to north Kolkata touching the anatomy depts of all the medical and ayurvedic colleges of the city.

Supporting Transplant Costs

Starting from February 2012, the cost of post-transplant drugs has been increasing for three low-income organ recipients.

Monthly Magazine

Since 1988, we have been publishing a monthly magazine called ‘Mukhpatra Ganadarpan’ to foster a scientific mentality in thinking and behaviour across all aspects of life. Additionally, we have published a memorial book dedicated to the Proper Utilization of Donated Bodies, various articles, and a tribute to Chandra on the occasion of the Astronomical Year and Posthumous Donation, all in Bengali.
